International Bryology Summer School

From bryophyte identification to practical use 2023 (funding from State Education Development agency, Republic of Latvia).

This event will take place in Eastern Latvia (North-East Europe), where due to the climatic conditions and historical land management high habitat diversity is present with interesting temperate bryophytes. Students will gain knowledge in temperate bryophyte identification in a field and laboratory. In addition, students will be introduced to bryophyte conservation aspects, ecology and practical use. 

Time: July 3rd-12th, 2023

Place: Study and Research center Ilgas, Daugavpils University, Latvia

Student application is open now and deadline is: April 1st, 2023.

Applications are welcome from International students (undegraduate and graduate programmes) with citizenship from 43 countries (country list available here: https://du.lv/en/events/bryology-summer-school-from-bryophyte-identification-to-practical-use-2023/)

In total we will accept 10 International students for this Summer school and their expenses (accomodation, meals three times per day, refreshments, transportation in Latvia, tuition fee) in Latvia will be covered by State Education Development agency, Republic of Latvia. 

Other expenses as International travel to/from Latvia, visa and health insurance students should cover by themselves.

After the course, students will receive 4.5 ECTS and certificate.
